AN aspiring actress is keeping her eye on the new Doc Martin television series this autumn after filming various scenes for the hit ITV drama.

Becky Allman, who lives in Looe, was an extra during a wedding scene in the first episode of the current series – and has also acted in scenes which have yet to air on television.

For Becky, seeing herself prominently on screen sitting just behind star actor Martin Clunes, who plays Doc Martin, was an exciting moment – if a little embarrassing.

‘It’s the first time I’ve been on TV acting, it was very cringey to see myself, but nice,’ said Becky, 24.

‘It’s an amazing atmosphere on set. They treat you so well. ‘Martin Clunes was turning around, making sure we were all okay.’

Becky, who works as a care assistant in Looe, studied Performing Arts and Music Theatre at Falmouth University.

She is now hoping that she’ll get the chance to act in other productions through the Liskeard-based casting agents Take 1 Casting.
