THE Queens Arms in Torpoint will be holding a 12-hour live music session in support of the tsunami disaster fund on Saturday, February 5. Local bands will start performing at noon, and are set to include: Impact, XLR, Piledriver, Joker, HM Land Registry, S-Punk 3 and The Drink Problem. Additionally, local businesses are sponsoring the pub's attempt to get through 100 gallons of beer in 12 hours. There will be a raffle during the band change overs, with prizes donated by various local businesses. The money raised from the event will be split between the Shelter Box appeal and the Torpoint and Rame Lions. The Lions have said that a Lions Club in Colombo, Sri Lanka, would be able to receive the money directly, and that this would then be distributed by the local lions to those who need it.
