Berenice Matta from Torpoint received her black belt in Taekwondo-Do this week – at just six years of age! She attends the Little Puma sessions for four- seven-year-olds at Torpoint Community College, and has started on her journey to become a master of martial arts. Berenice has worked hard to gain an understanding of balance, memory, co-ordination, focus and concentration, teamwork and leadership, emergency skills, stranger awareness, fitness and discipline to gain her black belt. Mum Kimberley said: 'We are all very proud of what she has achieved.' Third Dan instructor Mark Bishop also teaches older children and adults at Torpoint, Callington, Liskeard and Bodmin, and currently has 80 Little Pumas on his books.
