This was a real turn up for the books, as Liskeard took on high-flying St Austell in a fixture the Saints must have had every hope of winning. However, the Lions launched an inter-passing move in their own half between forwards and backs. The ball finally went into the hands of wing Andy Sheer, who beat three defenders to the line for what was probably the best try of the game. On the stroke of half-time, the home side's attacking game was rewarded with a penalty, which was kicked by fly-half James Noel-Johnson.

Liskeard didn't let up in the second period, and within three minutes the pressure had allowed Noel-Johnson to land his second penalty goal.
