Liskerret's success

LISKERRET Male Voice Choir competed in the recent Saltash, Music and Speech and Drama Festival and came first with 86 points, musical director Roy Wilton stepping up to receive the Burraton Male Voice Choir Cup.

The choir sang two pieces - True Love and the Soldier and the Work in Man, and all members agreed it had been a very enjoyable as well as successful evening.

In January the choir, supported by the singing group Pastiche, gave a concert at the Lord Eliot Hotel which was an overwhelming success.

Every seat was taken and £500 was raised for the Liskeard St John Ambulance.

A date for the diary is Saturday, March 9, when the choir and guests St Columba Celtic Male Voice Choir will be in concert at Liskeard Methodist Church, starting at 7.30pm.

Proceeds will be for the British Heart Foundation and admission will by programme at the door.
