The branch in Pike Street, Liskeard, is carrying out the collection in support of the Woodside Animal Welfare Trust.

New industrial
units and workshops
A £730,000 scheme, to provide 11 new industrial units and nine managed workshops at Liskeard Business Park, is due to begin soon.
The scheme, which has government and European funding, could lead to the creation of 31 new jobs. It is likely to aid around 20 small and medium-sized businesses, with the new units to be completed by May 2002.
Caradon Council, which is to manage them, said there is a waiting list.
Boost for bus passengers
Plymouth Citybus is running two extra journeys in each direction on its Monday to Saturday service 77/78 between Liskeard and Plymouth.
The enhanced service started operation on Monday. The additional journeys, funded by Cornwall County Council, mean a bus every hour between Liskeard and Plymouth during Monday to Saturday daytimes.
Every other journey operates through Menheniot, providing a two hourly service from Menheniot and Merrymeet to both Liskeard and Plymouth.
Since taking over this service in September last year Citybus has gained new passengers - although not enough to justify the new journeys on a commercial basis.
They are only viable with county council support.
Meanwhile, the Monday to Friday journey at 12 noon from Bodmin to Liskeard on service 78 will run one hour earlier throughout its journey departing from Bodmin at 1100.
This adjustment will allow a stay of just over one-and-a-half hours at Trago Mills and an hour in Liskeard.
