Looking for lost family members
FORMER Liskeard resident, Terry Nicholas, is trying to find some of his family. Terry, who was taught in the town, is looking for his step brother and sister Anne and Peter Nicholas, who he is sure are still in the area.
After moving to East Africa, Peter now lives in the Dominican Republic and is in Britain, until early December. If you have any information, contact him on (01206) 502795.
Charity walker
raises £161
A PENSIONER from Liskeard raised £161 through a sponsored walk in aid of the Woodside Animal Trust. Winnie McCoubrey, 75, of Higher Lux Street, undertook a five-mile sponsored walk in Plymouth on September 9.
She said she found some parts of the walk difficult, especially on the hard ground through woods. The Woodside Trust has a charity shop in Well Lane, Liskeard, in which Winifred takes an interest, and she says she would like to thank everyone who gave her and the Trust their support.
RNLI funds
at Safeway
LISKEARD and District branch of the RNLI thanked everyone for contributions totalling nearly £800 collected at Safeway, Liskeard in September.
Over £400 was taken on the souvenir stall at St Matthews Fayre, with thanks to LIskeard Lions for their organization.
The RNLI's next function is a skittles evening at Liskeard Sports Club, Lux Park on Friday 19 October at 8pm. This will be £2 per person including refreshments. (details 01579 343295)
Berkoff
auditions
LISKEARD Drama Group are looking for male and female performers for a part in a bold interpretation of the Steven Berkoff play 'Agamemnon.'
The group will hold casting readings and auditions in Stuart House on November 6 and 8 at Stuart House, starting at 7.30pm.
No preparation is necessary for the auditions and you will not be asked to do anything but read.

Mural book
to go on sale
A BOOK by Anne Dingle on the mural in Liskeard library is to be available at the library shortly.
The book has been compiled from the pictures painted on the staircase wall in the library by local artist, June Cole. These were of objects donated by the people of Liskeard to represent a mini history of the town.
Anne is well-known to residents of Liskeard and Looe as their librarian for over 30 years. The book includes contributions from local historians John Rapson, George Vaughan-Ellis and Jean Wills, together with photographs by Peter Levers. The book costs £7.99 and may be ordered by post or in person.

THANKS have been extended to all who supported the world's biggest coffee morning event, held at St Martin's parish church hall, Liskeard, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief last Friday. Thanks also went to those who supported the Macmillan stall at St Matthew's Fair.

runner-up
farm administrator Joanne Hosking, from Liskeard, was runner-up in the IAgSA Farm Business Administrator 2001 competition.
This annual competition is designed to test entrants' all round knowledge of agricultural administration.
Seven finalists were chosen, the finals and presentation day being near Corby in Leicestershire on October 4 and 5.
