Meeting for former

grammar pupils

THE Liskeard Grammar School Association will be holding its annual 'Open Day' and annual meeting on September 29. This year, to reflect the school's wide catchment area, the venue will be Looe Guildhall.

The Guildhall will be open to all former students and their guests from 2pm when visitors will have the chance to meet old friends, see the archive of photographs and school memorabilia dating back to the late l920s, and generally take a trip down memory lane.

People who are not current members of the association will be able to learn of its activities and how the last two years has seen interest grow not only from around the UK, but also from around the world.

A Saturday afternoon visit to Looe Island has proved to be very popular, and there are already 80 bookings for the three-hour trip. More places are still available. Also, thanks to the support of former student Jeanne Dingle, the Looe museum will be specially opened.

At 6pm the association will hold its annual meeting at the Guildhall, followed by an open buffet reception where all are welcome.

One of the main items on the agenda will be the planning for 'Reunion 2002' when the committee will take on the task of not only equally, but attempting to better, the outstanding success of 'Reunion 2000'.
