Pensilva appeal
is dismissed
AN appeal, following a Caradon council decision to refuse permission for a bungalow to be built at Pensilva, has been dismissed.
The appeal, by Mr R J Connor, was regarding a plan to build a two bedroomed bungalow with detached garage at Taormina, School Road.
The government inspector concluded that an additional property in the garden of Taormina would 'consolidate scattered residential development in the countryside and would clearly be contrary to approved policies aimed at protecting the character and appearance of rural areas.'
An appeal regarding a development to change the use of, and convert a group of farm buildings to provide four letting units at Killigorrick, St Keyne, has also been dismissed. This appeal was by Mr and Mrs Buck
New names
announced
CARADON council has announced that the name and numbering of the new development off Dark Lane, Liskeard, will be 1-9 The Griffins.
The council has also said that Manley Road (West) will be renamed Little Dean.
Lighting at
Luxstowe?
AN application has been put forward by Caradon council to install a lighnting protection system at the council office grade 11 listed building at Luxstowe House.
The proposal, which was due to be discussed by the planning control committee (west) last night (Thursday), involves the fitting of a lightning protection system across both parts of the building. Officers said the works are necessary to ensure the long term protection of the building, and due to their small scale would not harm the character or appearance of Luxstowe House.
The application would need to be referred to the secretary of state for the environment for determination, because a listed building is involved.
