Bad weather
hits hall work
THE Foresters Hall in Liskeard may not be finished until May 30 next year due to the bad weather.
A further two-week extension of time has been granted on the Liskeard Town Council scheme.
Members of the council's property committee received plans from the project manager for a porch to be erected over the main side entrance of the hall - which had been suggested at a previous site meeting. The estimated cost is around £6,481, and it was recommended that this be left in abeyance for the time being.
The hall is to be used as a museum and tourist information centre.
Tiers to
be bought?
LISKEARD Town Council is to investigate the price of second-hand lightweight raised seating for the Public Hall.
The matter is to be looked into following a letter from the Liskeard Musical Theatre Company enquiring if there were any plans to provide such seating in the hall. Deputy mayor Tony Powell told the council's property committee that tiered seating was a necessity nowadays.
Committee members have also discussed the use of the area behind the hall and it was agreed to seek a copy of the plans drawn up when the building was renovated in l983.
