Museum open until September

The museum in Liskeard is to open for the summer season on Tuesday - and hopefully this will be its last season in its current premises.

The museum, which is manned by around 22 volunteers (four of them reserves) on a rota basis, is currently housed at 5 West Street. However, from the spring of 2001 the exhibits should be re-located at new museum premises in the town council's Foresters Hall.

The museum will be open from May 2 through to September, from 11am-4pm Mondays to Fridays and from 11am to 1.30pm on Saturdays. Admission is free.

The volunteers are co-ordinated by Heather Medlin, and anyone wishing to add their help should contact her on 01579 343810. The museum's exhibits outline the history of Liskeard and district.
