ALL the traditional fun of the fair will come to Liskeard tomorrow (Saturday) – with a little bit of magic thrown in.

St Matthew’s Fair will start on The Parade at around 9am, with stalls selling an array of local produce, handicrafts and gifts.

Charitable groups have the chance to showcase their work – and the Lions Ladies will be tempting all-comers with their baked treats and savouries.

From 10am, there will be children’s entertainment and magic tricks with Chloe the Clown, as well as a slide and carousel.

At Stuart House, the English Civil War battles re-enactment society The Sealed Knot will stage a display of weaponry, cooking and crafts of the 17th-century period from 10am to 3pm.

It was during the English Civil War, of monarch against Parliament, that King Charles I stayed in Stuart House in 1644 while on military campaign in Cornwall.

And back on The Parade from 12.30pm there will be music from the Liskeard Silver Band and Samba Kernow.
