Liskeard School's sixth form football team have returned from Sweden, where they competed in the Youth World Cup – The Gothia Cup.

During the tournament they went up against against and watched some of the best school and club sides in the world.

In the group stages of the boys' under-18 tournament, Liskeard faced Azalea BK from the host

nation, Atlantic Cyclones from the USA and Fuhsetal from Germany.

The East Cornwall school finished second in the group thanks to a 3-0 win over their Swedish opponents and an impressive 3-0 victory over the German side

in a game they needed to win by two clear goals in order to qualify for the knockout stages.
