THIS Sunday (March 27) will be Mothering Sunday and the Liskeard & Looe Rotary Club will be presenting a Mother’s Day Variety Show raising money for Dobwalls Foodtball Club’s defibrillator appeal.
The show will be staged in the Public Hall in Liskeard beginning at 2.30pm and the show’s compere will be that stand-up comedian with a talent for one-liners Tank Sherman, who has regularly served in the same capacity at the Rotarians’ Christmas concerts.
The performers will include Michael Douglas, who is acclaimed as Europe’s top Neil Diamond tribute act, and Torpoint-based soprano and songwriter Janine Wright.
Tickets to the Variety Show are priced at £10 and are available from Dobwalls Football Club, Liskeard & Looe Rotarians and the Tourist Information Centre at 1 Pike Street, Liskeard or call 01579 349148.
The good causes recently supported by Liskeard & Looe Rotary Club have included Children’s Hospice South West, Cornwall Hospice Care, Cornwall Air Ambulance, the Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus, the Parkinson Society, Liskeard Silver Band, Medical Detection Dogs, Mercy Ships, Clic Sargent, the Echo Centre in Liskeard, and Liskeard Food Bank.
