Liskeard-Looe Rugby Club took on Dobwalls and Liskeard Football Clubs in the annual challenge match during the festive period at Lux Park.
As usual, the whole contest was played in true Christmas spirit.
The football match was well refereed by Dave Skews, who allowed the play to flow resulting in some excellent football.
It was a close-run thing, but the football players just managed to come out on top 3-2 victors, therefore holding a one-point lead going into the rugby encounter. Alex McKay kept control with the whistle, albeit showing the footballers some leniency with one or two of the more complex rules of the game.
The final score was six tries to one in favour of the Lions, giving them an overall victory on the day of 8-4.
