Skinner's Brewery Cornwall Clubs Cup quarter-final
Perranporth 7
Liskeard-Looe 19
LISKEARD-Looe advan-ced into the semi-finals of the Skinner's Brewery Cornwall Clubs Cup
following a comfortable win at Perranporth on Sunday.
On a chilly afternoon at The Droop, the Lions edged into an early six-point lead thanks to two penalties from fly-half Marcus Hill.
The visitors then posted their first try of the game in the 17th minute with a nice three-quarters move, resulting in a touchdown for centre Jamie Robbins, which went unconverted.
Hill then added his third penalty of the game to make it 14-0 to the visitors at the break.
In the second period, Liskeard-Looe had to play against the wind, which had picked up quite considerably, and it took until the 63rd minute for any more points to be scored.
They came through a Liskeard try from winger Baz Hocking, after a period of pressure on the Perranporth line.
However, in the last ten minutes, Liskeard-Looe allowed their opponents to get back into the game, and Perranporth ran in a try from Olly Wilton, converted by Adie Matthews with the last kick of the match.
Liskeard-Looe will try again with their EDF Energy last-16 clash at home to Campion tomorrow, with the game kicking off at 2.00 pm at Lux Park.
Last weekend's match fell victim to the heavy snow that fell early last Friday morning.
