Liskeard’s former Liberal Club building sold for £145,000 when it came to auction.

The mixed town centre commercial investment and development property was among the West Country lots listed for sale by the regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.

It had already sold once, but the deal subsequently fell through.

The property includes the former Liberal Social Club premises, its large Memorial Hall and feature balcony plus an extensive array of offices and stores on the second floor. In addition there is a ground floor book shop.

Auction valuer Katie Semmens said: ‘The new owner already has an income from the bookshop on the ground floor and a host of options for the remainder of the building subject to the necessary consents.’

Starting at 11am, the eighth of Clive Emson Auctioneers’ eight regional West Country auctions in 2017 takes place at the St Mellion International Resort on Friday, December 15.
