A great many people have criticised the Parade's enterprise, continually saying what a waste of money it is and how it should never have been done.

Since its completion, I think the success of the scheme, its popularity both to locals and visitors alike, has proved these sceptics wrong. True, it may have its small faults but, overall, I think it's been proved an overwhelming success.

With Alldays nearing completion and Webbs again looking hopeful, prospects for the town, with the millennium approaching, show a distinct improvement, especially as there are now virtually no closed-down shops - something which hasn't occurred for quite a few years.
