A letter was sent to Hilary Benn, Environmental Minister from Saltash mayor Bob Austin about the concern Saltash has about climate change and the town's interest in combating the problem. Many other towns are showing their concern for the environment. Letters were taken by special courier using pubic transport, bicycle or by foot to a central point. Cllr Colin Riches was the Saltash courier, taking the letter to Liskeard by train. He had planned to go by tandem with Cllr Adam Killey, but high winds prevented this method. Backing the plan was MP Colin Breed, and also giving support to the letter was Roger Creagh- Osborne of the Saltash Environmental Action Group.
