TORPOINT'S Caradon District Councillors Terry Moore and Eric Parkin were surprised to learn that Caradon District Council's Service Performance Scrutiny Panel recommends to full Council that Caradon District Council should not directly manage the new Torpoint Leisure Facility. The Panel also recommends that the Council should only provide support for the first three years, in the form of a reducing grant and expert advice. Cllr Eric Parkin said: 'We both feel that this project needs longer term support from Caradon District Council. A similar project in Callington until quite recently enjoyed support for ten years. This project is not just for the people of Torpoint but also for many other residents living in the Rame Peninsula. '
