Schoolchildren are asking for donations of lavender to help them raise money for Leukaemia Research in an appeal inspired by their headteacher's granddaughter.

Pupils at Bishop Cornish Primary School in Saltash are collecting dried lavender to create scented bags which they will sell for the charity.

The brave four-year-old girl who has inspired the fundraising is Leti Pugsley, granddaughter of headteacher Jenny Thomas and her husband, Father Theo, vicar of St John and Millbrook.
