In ideal conditions and a sizeable crows, at Ginsters Marsh-Field Park. Both sides settled and played some attractive football, Callington had the better of the first half chances, and found Plumb in the Southgate goal in fine form, making three fine saves denying Nicholls twice and Gerry.
The first goal came 20 minutes into the second half. Gregorys shot was saved by Plumb, this ball rebounded to Gregory who squared the ball to Nicholls who tapped in from two yards to score. Southgate pushed players forward causing problems for Callington and missed several chances due to poor finishing, but were suspect to the quick breakaways with Jury, Truscott and Gerry starting to dominate the midfield, and Nicholls and Gregory working tirelessly together up front.
With 10 minutes remaining Callington forced a corner which was met by Gregory whose header flew into the top corner. Callington worked hard for each other, and saw out the remainder of the game keeping a well earned clean sheet.
