This week’s three packed Cornish Times editions all lead with the advice NHS Kernow is issuing to help contain the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

The advice includes anyone who fears they may have caught the virus staying at home and filling in an NHS online questionnaire, but the main advice to us all from Public Health England is to wash your hands thoroughly and practise good hygiene.

With health matters on everyone’s minds, the main addition also has a report and pictures from Duchy College Stoke Climsland of students providing free health assessments for staff.

There is also news that a major milestone has been reached in a bid to save a Liskeard pub that closed down not long ago, and a spread of pictures from Caradon Youth Theatre’s Seussical the Musical show staged at Liskeard Public Hall.

In the Saltash edition, we have a picture of staff from a Saltash training and consultancy company who joined others in a litter pick around the town, and a review and spread of photos from Saltash Community School’s successful We Will Rock You show.

We also report that people living near the Tamar Bridge have raised concerns about safety after reporting items being thrown from the bridge.

Our Bodmin edition, meanwhile, has a picture and report on a special thank you visit to Bodmin College by the town’s Lions Club president to thank students for their fundraising efforts. We also report that the college is giving students the opportunity to study for a degree qualification.

In addition, our 999 section also reports that a woman is being investigated for drug-driving after a pedestrian died in a collision near Bodmin Nursery at Lanivet.

In all editions we have a report on the heartfelt tributes paid at the funeral of Liskeard fatal stabbing incident victim Damien Bendelow, a sad event attended by many young people from the area as well as family members.

In other news, we report that that one of the Torpoint ferries will be out of action for two months undergoing a refit at Falmouth. There are also pictures of one of the ferry’s huge chains being renewed.

In addition, we also reveal that residents of South East Cornwall can get involved in a project by the creators of the Man Engine to built a new labyrinth maze from traditional Cornish hedging beside Colliford Lake on Bodmin Moor, and details of some of the locations and extras from the area who have appeared in the new Dawn French TV drama The Trouble with Maggie Cole.

Our special features this week include a preview of Sunday’s re-arranged East Cornwall Point-to-Point meeting at Great Trethew, near Menheniot, and the Cornish Tractors open day later this month. Plus there’s an Animal Matters section focusing on local companies that can help with the care of your pets, from dogs and cats to horses, and a feature on the fundraising ‘Celts in Cornwall’ shindig being held in Liskeard on St Patrick’s Day to help a charity supporting families living with autism.

As ever, we also have lots of your community news and pictures and regular columns such as Ray Roberts’ Nature Watch, your Letters, TV Choice, Crosswords and Puzzles and the latest Books.

As well as the four-page Farming & Equestrian section, there are Leisure, Property and Motoring pages, and there are 12 packed pages of Sports action.

Find all this and more in this week’s Cornish Times, in shops from today (Friday).
