A MUSEUM celebrating Cornwall’s military history is offering just a few more chances to visit in person before it shuts for the winter.

Bodmin Keep is open until the end of tomorrow (Friday December 11) and then again on December 18 and 19, before it closes until the February half term.

But during the closed period there will still be plenty on offer via the museum’s website and social media – and the museum team will be busy working on new displays and creating outreach resources for schools.

Three new young members of staff are also set to join the museum in mid-January: a Customer Service Apprentice, a Trainee Curator and a Digital Intern. They will help the museum to offer a great experience for visitors during 2021, with exciting activities and events for the local community.

Museum Director Mary Godwin said: “We’ve decided to close for the quietest time of the winter this year to enable us to refresh the museum galleries and get ready for what we hope will be a great year in 2021.

“We’re as committed as ever to providing educational and fun activities for all ages and in particular, we’ll be promoting our exciting new loans boxes for schools and colleges from January onwards. There’ll be a warm welcome back for everyone on February 16 when things get off to a flying start at half term with authentic Second World War re-enactment.”
