A woman in Callington who celebrated her 100th birthday recently, is believed to be the oldest pub landlady in Britain.

Up until six years ago, Vera Ghey ws regularly seen tending the bar at her pub, The Bulls Head in Fore Street.

Friend and colleague, Gerry Foster runs the pub for Vera, who has recently been admitted to hospital and has worked with her since 1983.

He said: 'She's a remarkable lady, obviously she is quite old now, but she still has a very active brain and helps with the accounts.'
