Never in the history of Looe has the bay been so full of sailing craft, as the old Luggers of yesteryear joined the hi-tec fleet of Looe Sailing Club for a weekend feast.

The Kinver family ruled the waves in the Redwing class, with helm Peter and his crew Helen Regan aboard Red Herring reading the light air conditions to perfection to take the day's top spot.

Cousin Arthur and his daughter Tamsin, on their first outing of the season, showed early promise in securing a close second place.

Fleet stalwart Geoff Godbolt, with son Philip crewing, in taking third spot, held off a strong challenge from Simon and Marion Cole – who have just returned from a six-month European back-packing trek.

Climbing up the ladder in the Mirror class aboard Crabb Apple were young Alex Richardson and crew Callum Johns, who came a creditable fifth and could threaten the fleet's top guns soon.
