Saltash Utd U15 12
Elburton Villa 1
THIS game started well for both sides and had all the makings of an even contest with Villa attacking the Ashes goal and Tony Jane pulling off an early athletic save.
Twelve minutes into the game, Ashes opened their account with Dave Wright making no mistake when presented with a chance.
Villa replied with a spectacular goal, which, starting well out to the right of the goal, curled gracefully back in and under the bar.
A few minutes later an Adam Hutchings flick-on took a nasty bounce over the advancing keeper and Daniel Thompson followed it in to take the score to 2-1.
Martin Burt quickly followed suit converting a Ben Philp free kick on the volley giving the Villa keeper no chance.
Some excellent teamwork enabled Adam Hutchings to score a brace of goals just before half time and Saltash finished the half 5-2 up.
The second half was dominated by the Ashes lads playing perhaps their best football of the season. In true exhibition style Myles Evans cracked in a couple of goals and a long through ball down the wing was crossed for David Wright to hammer home number eight.
A classic Ben Philp goal followed with the ball running free just outside the box and a strike of sheer perfection into the net.
Rounding off the afternoon Daniel Thompson finished a Myles Evans shot, which the keeper could only parry.
Myles lobbed the keeper for his hat trick and Lee Jackets scored his first for the season converting a penalty in the closing minutes.
Playing like this it is easy to see why Saltash remain unbeaten after 13 games.

Dobwalls 3 Biscovey 0
DOBWALLS produced an exceptional display of all round football to defeat league leaders Biscovey on Sunday.
Despite starting the brightest, the Dobwalls defence of Daryl Hick, Dan Lovelock, Dean Starr and Tim Powell always looked comfortable dealing with what was thrown at them.
Dobwalls gradually took control of the game and began to create chances for themselves.
Their efforts were rewarded after 15 minutes when a determined run from Jack Bartlett set up Kane Wilson to score the first.
Dobwalls kept pressing and were unlucky not to score again shortly after when a Bartlett shot was saved by the keeper's legs.
Dobwalls doubled their lead after 25 minutes, Wilson reversing roles to set up Bartlett for his third goal in two games.
Biscovey started the second half as they did the first but with more determination, but again they hit the brick wall of the Dobwalls defence and could not break them down.
Although Biscovey had the majority of possession, it was Dobwalls who always looked the more likely to score from the breakaway, with Bartlett giving the Biscovey defence cause for concern with his pace and physical presence.
Only an excellent defensive tackle stopped him from scoring a third ten minutes into the half.
Biscovey kept pressing and tried to get themselves back into the game, which they nearly did on the hour only to be thwarted by an excellent tip over the bar by the Dobwalls' keeper Sam Lovelock.
Dobwalls sealed the game with five minutes remaining after some good link-up play between Sean Hocking and Jack Bartlett set up Wilson for his second.
Other exceptional performances were from the midfield trio of Shane Ruark, Phil Benny and Rub Tuite, who worked hard to support their defenders and attackers. It was a difficult decision but the man of the match award went to Daryl Hick.
Dobwalls' next game is away to Truro City in the semi-final of the cup on Sunday (March 10).
Mount FC U10 3
Liskeard U10 7
Mount FC U10s visited Liskeard for an important League game.
Liskeard went down two goals in the first five minutes and it took another 15 minutes for Liskeard to pull a goal back, going in at half time 2-1 down.
After the break Mound scored again but as fortunes changed dramatically that was their last goal.
In the next 20 minutes Liskeard gave a display from attacking midfield players that was of an exceptionally high standard, with forwards D Cullingford, R Cotton and A Cobb (captain) all getting on the score sheet. Liskeard's defence, shaky in the first half, held firm in the second with Sam Gilbert making some good clearances.
Liskeard scorers: A Cobb, R Cotton 3, D Cullingford 4. Man of the match: A Cotton, L Penhaligon, S Gilbert, L Cloake, L Lucas.
Liskeard U10s are grateful to Darren and Kevin Gilbert for sponsorsing their new football kit - a great example of local business doing something positive for local kids - thank you Darren and Kevin.
