Josh Carnell, from Looe, has been selected for the prestigious Tri UK race team for the 2011 season.

The Kelly College pupil – who comes from a swimming background, having won many medals at regional competitions – made triathlon his number one sport in 2008.

And, after representing Devon and Cornwall at cross-country, as well as making steady progress on the bike, Josh can't wait for the new season to begin properly. It is his second season in the Elite Youth category, with the first race taking place at Blenheim Palace on June 5.
