Lanhydrock v Wendron
Lanhydrock lifted the Jolly's Drinks Sunday Complementary Cup with a narrow win over Wendron in Sunday's final at Roche. Batting first, Lanhydrock were indebted to a 107 partnership between Dave Hollyoak (79) and J Rowe (55), which was the cornerstone of their total of 200 all out. Hollyoak's valuable knock earned him the man-of- the-match award. Lanhydrock's last wicket fell three balls shy of their alloted 40 overs. Extras of 28 was third highest scorer. Wendron's innings got off to a flying start with the Mitchell brothers putting on 78 for the first wicket. But tight bowling by L Sturtridge, whose 10 overs cost just 30 runs, stemmed the flow of runs. Lanhydrock's victory would have been much more comfortably achieved had they not conceded 52 extras, the biggest contribution to the Wendron total. But nonetheless, the Wendron innings closed seven runs short of their target on 193-9. Chief wicket taker was K Reid with 4-33.
