THE Battle of the Bands musicians’ competition begins this week at The Social in Liskeard, starting on Thursday – but there is still one space remaining for any band which would like to enter.
Round One, which is designed for 16 bands competing, will feature four bands a night on the following evenings: Thursday, January 27; Thursday, February 3; Thursday, February 10; and Thursday, February 17.
The selected bands will then go through to the Semi Finals comprising eight bands, again with four bands competing each night on Thursday, February 24, and Thursday, March 3.
The Final will then take place on Saturday, March 12, when the four most successful bands will compete for the titles of winner and runner-up.
The prize for the winner will be £1,000 plus two days in a studio and then a Top Support role in a show at The Social.
The prize for the runner-up will be £500 plus a Support role in a show at The Social.
The bands who have applied to enter so far include The Outlanders, Black Tar Roses, Lacerta, Storylande, Change The Letter, Eyes of Caelum, Jamie Yost Trio, Souls of Misfortune, Lady Noir, Kill The Gun – Punk, Shy Fly, and cr3at10n.
There is currently one space remaining for any band also wishing to enter the competition, with the night when a slot is available being Thursday, February 17. To apply, in the first instance contact [email protected]
