The main point of the piece 'Fresh hopes for Looe cash' was that because of the breaches of planning regulations and an over-fondness for plastic by shop owners in Looe, English Heritage was not going to give any cash to Caradon or Looe councils.

It would appear that English Heritage do not share the view of Mrs Cass who praised Caradon and Looe councils as the guardians of Looe's natural beauty and heritage.

Like F G Greenaway of Torpoint I grew up in the country, also I don't know of anyone whose livelihood comes directly from hunting with hounds.

There could only be about 300 hunting packs in the country, each pack would only employ about three on average so, overall, the loss of less than a thousand jobs doesn't really amount to much amongst a population of 55 million.

The loss of jobs argument is a smokescreen put out by the few bigots who see this barbaric, so called sport, soon to be banned and not before time. As Oscar Wilde observed "the unthinkable chasing the uneatable".
