Paul Webber was the toast of Callington Town on Saturday when his 81st minute equaliser have the Marshman a deserved point at Penlee Park against a spirited Penzance side on Saturday.
Despite good weather, there was a poor crowd at Penzance to see this clash but Callington ignored this as they dominated the early exchanges, taking the lead on 12 minutes. Stuart Wakenshaw and Gary Smith combined on the left wing before Wakenshaw crossed for Webber to slide the ball past the Magpies keeper.
The home side responded and began to press the Town defence before, on 28 minutes. Adic Cusack and Chris Mather combined to set up Matthew Salmon who calmly beat Andy Brenton in the Callington goal for the equaliser.
The home side continued to dominated took the lead themselves on 73 minutes when Salmon grabbed his second with an exquisite chip which beat Brenton all ends up.
But, Callington are made of stern stuff as many of the Jewson teams are finding and, with eight minutes to go. Barry Ewence went on a right wing run and crossed for Webber to grab his second from close range to equalise.
