Having started positively and pressing for the opening 10 minutes Liskeard were caught out from a corner and found themselves a goal down when Dominic Evans netted. "Having started so well I felt it was going to be one of those days", said chairman Keith Lobb. "But some 10 minutes later we were two-up and well on top."

Nick Trevarthen equalised from a superbly struck free kick after Andy Bowker had been fouled outside the box.

The Blues were now buzzing and John Dawe's fine cross was swept home from close range before Bradley Swiggs made it 3-1.

Fast raiding Liskeard continued to tear Newquay apart and they completed their first half scoring when Trevarthen's free kick was blocked on the line by Bradley Ralph but Lee Beer followed up to force the ball home.

Liskeard took their foot off the pedal in the second half but still had enough power to grab a fifth goal 15 minutes from time as man of the match Graham McMillan's superb through ball found Bowker, who slammed the ball home from 18 yards.
