Blues boss Chris Burchell shuffled his side and left Jason Powell and Nick Trevarthen on the bench for this tussle with Truro. But it wouldn't have mattered who he had fielded as Liskeard were superior to their visitors in every department and with a little sharper finishing and a bit of fortune could have scored seven or eight.
Truro started lively enough and created a couple of chances early on but steadily Liskeard took hold and raising the level of their performance they led in the 19th minute when Bradley Swiggs' low cross into the danger area was touched in by Dean Tongue.
Nine minutes later in was 2-0. Truro failed to clear from a corner and with the ball being forced back into the area Tongue's mishit shot was guided in by Mark Skerton.
Three minutes later from John Dawe's centre Skerton's flashing header cannoned against an upright. Both Swiggs and Bowker might have increased the home lead but their finishinbg lacked direction. At the opposing end Blues 'keeper Mark Henwood made routine saves when denying Damien Stevens and Steve Wherry who did manage to net in the 38th minute only to be flagged offside.
A cracking finish from Bowker in the 51st minute put Liskeard into an uncatchable 3-0 lead. Truro battled away but the outcome was never in doubt as Swiggs made it four with an effort which went in off the bar. In rushing sub Nick Trevarthen however made certain.
There were several excellent Liskeard performances with Swiggs, Bowker and young James Gill often leaving a poor Truro side dazed by the quality of their football. Gill was desperately unlucky with a drive which struck the bar, a similar fate awaiting Powell who beat the Truro 'keeper only to find the woodwork.
