Launceston have played much better and lost but points were vital. The club gained one but the feeling was that it should have been all three.
In the first half Launceston struggled to play much football although Robbie Blake back in action following lengthy suspension tried his best to influence the side. He was always looking to receive the ball and link others in. Parkway took the lead with a quick passing move which Shaun Chambers finished. The lead fortunately was short lived and Chris Bennetts showed good strength in setting up Darren Oatworthy up to finish from close range.
In the second half Launceston showed much more with John Best supplying the forward with some good crosses from wide right one of which was finished off well by Sean Johns. At that stage it looked more likely launceston would get a third but a hotly disputed penalty decision gave Lawton the chance from the spot to make it two each.
Late on Paul Luscombe had to leave the field suffering with concussion following a dubious challenge and Launceston played the last five minutes with 10 men. From an overall look at the whole game a draw was probably a fair result but toward the end Launceston felt they had done enough to win but that sometimes it is what happens when your luck out. Launceston will just work harder and hopefully get luckier.
