Once again it was a depleted Saltash side that took to the field for this game against Falmouth Town. Rob Southgate played his first full 90 minutes in the Jewson South Western League side. Seventeen year old Paul Madden played only his third game and teenager Luke Hurlock stepped up from the second team to take a place in the first. To this add the fact that Richard Daly played through the pain barrier of an ankle injury.
Falmouth went ahead in the 5th minute when Justin Ashburn's cross found Bryn Wheeler who lobbed the ball over keeper Charles West. Less than three minutes later Chris Tomlinson headed the ball home for their second goal.
Saltash for their part saw Mike Southgate's header go wide of the post in the 36th minute. Falmouth went three up in the 37th minute when Charles West managed to clear one shot only to see Bryn Wheeler back heel the ball into the net. The 44th minute saw a fine move between Mike Southgate and Lee Burns end with Burn's shot going marginally wide. Justin Ashburn made it 4-0 in stoppage time of the first half, scoring his 100th goal for the club.
