Call the Midwife and Railway Children star Jenny Agutter is coming to Cornwall to support locally based charity, CHICKS, at an exclusive film screening on Saturday, May 7.
The event will take place at RAF St Mawgan, when Jenny’s film The Eagle Has Landed will be screened in the base’s cinema.
This year will mark the film’s 40th anniversary, and a number of scenes were filmed in Cornwall including some on the RAF base itself.
The film, described by critics as a ’good old-fashioned adventure movie’ also stars Donald Sutherland and Michael Caine, and tells the story of a fictional German plot to kidnap Winston Churchill during the height of the Second World War.
CHICKS provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children and young carers from all across the UK, and has two retreats in the South West including at Tywardreath. In 2015, the charity supported more than 150 children from Cornwall.
Tickets for the event cost £35, which includes a Q&A with Jenny and a buffet dinner. To buy tickets, email [email protected] or call 01822 811020. Find more information at chicks.org.uk
