Mr Chris Dennis of Torpoint was awarded the Imperial Service Medal for 40 years service to the crown.

Chris joined the Royal Navy in 1957 and spent the next 12 years serving in various ships around the world , before being posted to HMS Raleigh as an Instructor for the New Entries.

On leaving the Navy in 1969 he worked for a short spell at Unigate Dairies. In 1972 he became a prison officer and, after serving in various establishments around the country, retired in 1999, completing in total, 40 years Crown Service.

Chris is presently employed at a major national supermarket in Plymouth.
