HARDY sea swimmers are being encouraged to sign up for a charity event in Looe.

The Looe Island Swim for the Chestnut Appeal will see participants set off from St George’s Island to swim to East Looe Beach.

The course is around a mile in distance, and participants should be experienced swimmers; youngsters must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The event is the first of its kind to be held in Looe and behind it are the Rotary Club of Looe Valley, who are being supported by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
