The Par-based charity Beth’s Inspiration, founded in memory of local primary school teacher Beth Clench, who lost her battle with cancer in 2013, is holding a special cycle, walk and scooter ride on Sunday, August 7. The event will begin at 12.30pm, starting from the Seaman’s Mission in Fowey and going along the Haul Road to Polmear and back, including going through the Pinnock Tunnel. Unfortunately, no dogs will be allowed due to port health restrictions. Entry, available until 3pm, will cost £3 for adults and £2 for children in aid of the charity. There will also be a barbecue, pasties, refreshments, raffle and cake stall.
