THE play of light, the flutter of a bird’s wing - all part of the inspiration behind a new art exhibition.

Ley Roberts’ annual Autumn show has opened at the Limekiln Gallery in Calstock.

From her base in the Tamar Valley, Ley has spent over a decade building a reputation for her drawings and etchings.

She says her work is inspired by what she sees and knows in the landscape around her.

She says: ’The play of light, the flutter of a bird’s wing, the reach of a bough or branch stir something in the viewer, leaving the impression of having been close to some atmospheric change in the air, or having lived through a memorable moment in time.’

The exhibition also features new work by Paul Cain Smith and Stephen Roberts in the show as well as new ceramics by Adela Powell and others.

The Limekiln Gallery’s Autumn Show runs until October 27.

The gallery, which specialises in all forms of physical art from the Tamar Valley, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm.
