Callington’s Town Council says it will come down hard on illegal parking at the Pannier Market.
The site, which is owned by the town council, has a limited amount of 30-minute parking for shoppers as well as bays for people with permits.
But people without permits have been parking for hours at a time or overnight in these bays, says the council.
‘We want our traders to be able to get to their units,’ said town clerk Helen Dowdall.
‘We’ve recently done some yellow lining and white lining in the car park, and this will be enforced. ‘Now it is very clear where you can and can’t park.
‘We’ve also prepared notices to put on cars which are not adhering to the traffic order.’
