POLPERRO Methodist Chapel was the venue on Saturday for a joint concert performed by The City of Plymouth Pipe Band, Looe Community School Senior Ensemble, Kerrell Garner, a former Halle Orchestra violinist, and Maisie Hall, pianist for Polperro Fishermen's Choir. All the artists gave their talents enabling the sum of £384.50 to be raised for the Children's Hospice South West. The evening was as full of humour as it was of music, with Duncan Warren, of BBC Radio Cornwall, compering the concert. His wit, coupled with that of the pipe band leader, entertained the audience. The sound of the Scottish pipes had everyone's feet tapping as it echoed around the chapel and village, and Kerrell and Maisie gave a marvellous performance. Their rendition of Bazzini's 'La Danse Des Gnomes' had everyone spellbound. Looe School's Ensemble gave an outstanding performance of Scott Joplin's 'The Entertainer.'
