AN unusal ’acting dean’ did the honours in a lockdown graduation ceremony.
Elysia Gregory, of Looe, will soon be starting work as a junior doctor, having graduated from Bristol University.
After attending Looe Community Academy, Elysia took her A levels at Liskeard Sixth Form and then spent five years studying medicine in Bristol.
Her class of 2020 attended the University’s first ever virtual celebration ceremony to allow them to graduate early and help with the current COVID-19 crisis.
Elysia, who is the eldest daughter of mayor of Looe Martin Gregory and his wife Julie, graduated with a degree in Medicine with a distinction.
The fun-loving family celebrated her success as Elysia took part in the virtual ceremony wearing a homemade mortarboard – and pug Hugo acted as the Dean, handing out the certificate!
