BRYAN Preston and Joyce Mepsted, county councillors for Saltash, have reassured local people that the Number 52 bus from Saltash to Derriford Hospital will continue to run. Bryan and Joyce, who are both vice presidents of St Barnabus Hospital League of Friends, heard about concerns from other members at their AGM last week, following rumours that this service was set to cease. They, along with MP Colin Breed, have spoken with the manager of First Bus who said that only the route from Derriford to Plympton is to be cut. There will continue to be a service to Derriford Hospital from Saltash with just a few changes in the timetable. Joyce Mepsted said: 'We are delighted to find that this rumour is not true as this is a vital service for those in Saltash who work, need medical attention or wish to visit loved ones at Derriford. They are very pleased that it is to continue.'
