Leaving behind a snowy Cornwall, Cara-don travelled to Cullompton to meet East Culm Vale Hornets in this League fixture. After a slightly delayed start, due to goalie Hellen Delbridge having car trouble en route, it was the away side that took control of play first.
Fleur Worden got on the end of a loose ball to break the deadlock, only for ECVH to level the scores.
However, Caradon continued to play the ball around the pitch, utilising the width and the central role of Kat Redd, and they gained their reward just before half-time. A short corner was injected by Amy Greenbank to Clare Poad; she slipped the ball to Terri Barberry, before E J Mullis picked up the rebound deflecting the shot into the goal. The second period started with a renewed burst of attacking play by ECVH, which was snuffed out by 'Man-of-the-Match' Sharon Jeffery, Barberry and Maria Burgess.
Carina Batten flicked the ball over the goalkeeper to secure a 3-1 lead, before another short corner gave Greenbank the opportunity to lift the ball into the back of the net, after the umpire had played an advantage.
