The Parliamentary Archives’ Protestation Returns for Cornwall have been made available online for the first time.

The Returns are the closest record there is to a census from 1641 to 1642 and provide an early insight into who was living in Cornwall.

You can join the Parliamentary Archives and Cornwall Record Office teams for a free hands-on workshop on Monday, February 6, 10am-12noon about the new Protestation Returns map.

The workshop will include an overview of how to use the online map, as well as a chance to explore original related documents and see behind the doors of the Record Office strongrooms.

It aims to offer help to those researching their family history. Call 01872 323127 to book your place.
