An historic event is set to take place in St Germans tomorrow evening (Friday) with a visit from the Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, Bishop Nicholas Hudson.

Bishop Hudson will preach evensong at St Germans Priory at 7pm.

‘This is a truly historic event, as we believe it is the first time a Roman Catholic Bishop has preached at St Germans since it was an Anglo Saxon Cathedral consecrated in 926 AD,’ said trustee Joanna Rimron.

The Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, who is still the titular Bishop of St Germans, visited the Priory last year, and agreed to return to preach an Ecumenical Choral Evensong.

The choir from Tavistock’s St Eustachius Church will be singing during the service.
