Tomorrow (Sunday) the fifth annual clearing of the reed path and sycamore saplings at Par will take place.

Organised by the Friends of Par Beach, a working party has tackled the clearance of the reed path every year since 2010 and it has now become an enjoyable and social event.

Volunteers are reminded to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and conditions underfoot. Also bring loppers, shears and secateurs if possible, although the organisation has a supply of tools. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The reed clearing will be from 10.30am-12.30pm and volunteers are asked to meet at the entrance to the reed path by the sluices and opposite the old parking attendant’s hut. Parking will be free of charge.
