The Cornish Times has a new mascot – a friendly big brown bear.

In this competition, we are asking children aged 11 and under, to suggest a name for our bear.

If a suitable suggestion is put forward, the child who comes up with the name will receive a special Cornish Times bear as a prize.

Our new mascot will be out and about in South East Cornwall, representing the paper and will be happy, when appropriate, to pose for ‘selfies’ with members of the public.

So, children, get thinking and you could win a super new teddy bear.

Write your suggested name for the bear on a postcard or sealed envelope, along with your name, age, postal and email addresses and telephone number, and send it to: Cornish Times Bear naming competition, Cornish Times, The Tindle Suite, Webb’s House, The Parade, Liskeard, Cornwall PL14 6AH.

Alternatively, email your name suggestion, name, age, address and telephone number to competitions@

cornish-times.co.uk marking it ‘Cornish Times Bear naming competition’ in the subject line.
